DOCTORS

DR. LINDA BATHE

Dr. Linda Bathe graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry in 1985 and was awarded The College of Optometrists of Ontario Medal for General Proficiency. She started a solo practice in Stratford in June 1985 which has grown into Romeo Optometry.

Dr. Bathe graduated from Northwestern Secondary School in Stratford and has enjoyed living and raising a family here. She has served on The Gallery Stratford Board of Directors and has been a member of The Stratford Rotary Club since 1996. Dr. Bathe has been involved with Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth since the beginning of the project and continues to serve on the Stratford Perth Hospice Foundation Board of Directors.

Dr. Bathe volunteers for The College of Optometrists of Ontario serving on numerous committees including one term as President of the College. She enjoys practicing general Optometry including glaucoma care, dry eye diagnosis and treatment, binocular vision diagnosis and vision therapy, contact lens care and fitting and laser vision consulting and co-management. She always welcomes new patients.

DR. KIRSTEN CARTER

Dr. Kirsten Carter graduated from the University of Waterloo with her Bachelor of Honours Science and Doctor of Optometry Degrees in 2019, graduating on the Dean’s Honours List and receiving the Johnson & Johnson Vision Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care. After working at Romeo Optometry while in high school, she decided to pursue optometry as a career.

Dr. Carter has a strong background in optometric research and is currently completing her Master’s in Vision Science at the University of Waterloo. Her research and clinical interests include scleral contact lenses, ocular imaging,

keratoconus, ocular disease management and pediatrics.

As an optometry student, Dr. Carter provided eye care to individuals with complex ocular disease during her clinical externship alongside a retinal specialist in Scarborough, Ontario, as well as in Haiti on a volunteer optometric mission trip.

Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing music, and running. She is excited to return to Romeo to provide eye care and welcomes new and existing patients.

DR. HEATHER BLAIN

Dr. Heather Blain graduated from the University of Western Ontario in Honours Physiology, and received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2003, graduating on the Dean’s Honours List.

Dr. Blain welcomes all patients but her specific clinic interests include dry eye, pediatrics, and bifocal contact lenses. As an active member of the Optometry profession, she is part of the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and has served as a committee member with the College of Optometrists of Ontario.

Living in Stratford for 17 years with her young family, she enjoys all that the community has to offer, and extends a warm welcome to newcomers to the area, and all new patients.

DR. KELLEY JACOBS

Dr. Jacobs received her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry Degrees in 1995 from the University Of Waterloo School Of Optometry.

Practicing full scope eye care, Dr. Jacobs sees patients of all ages and types. She is licenced to treat and manage visual and medical conditions of the eye including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, cataracts and dry eye.

Dr. Jacobs says the best part of her job is being able to develop long lasting relationships with her patients by providing education and means by which her patients can protect their eyes and vision for years to come. Being able to serve the many families of the surrounding area year after year, ensuring any and all of their visual needs are met, is what drives her each and every day.

In her free time Dr. Jacobs enjoys travelling, camping and spending time with her family and two dogs Jersey and Oakley.
